Visiting Natural Adventure Spots in New Zealand

New Zealand is a wonderland, an island country that has more wilderness areas than populated regions. Unique flora and fauna are waiting discovery. North and South Islands have so much to offer residents and visitors who take time to appreciate the natural wonders of the country. Individuals, friends and family can experience the country in a motorhome or campervan New Zealand style. If road trip planners cannot cris-cross the country to see all the sites possible, they can select at least one spot to visit and discover.

One Place on North Island

Taupo - Heading for the heart of North Island, travelers will find the lovely Lake Taupo and the city on the northeastern end of the lake that is also called Taupo. The lake is a great place to stay for water sports and more. For staying overnight in the campervan or motorhome, people will find basic as well as more luxurious campgrounds around the town of Taupo.

In the region are many sites to see and things to do. People can take day trips to see Haku Falls on the beautiful Waikato River. Lion's Walk begins in town and follows around the lake for about 5 miles. Some sections are paved. The lovely Waipahihi Botanical Reserve is a great place for views of the lake and mountains beyond that are part of Tongariro National Park, another place worth visiting. The botanical reserve has a driving tour and walking paths. Then a stratovolcano that is inactive, Mount Tauhara has a moderate trail to its summit from which the view is amazing.

One South Island Destination

Queenstown - The Remarkables Mountain Range and Lake Wakatipu are stunning scenes from this lakeside mountain resort. All year, the region is perfect for a wide range of outdoor sports. In town and just out of town are campgrounds with various levels of amenities. Staying outside the village provides more time in nature. The region is so scenic. Many mountain and lake views are breathtaking.

Queenstown has sites of interest to those who are getting out in nature. The Skyline Gondola ride to Bob's Peak is a spectacular trip with views of the Remarkables, the lake and other mountains. Even just driving or cycling around the region is rewarding with scenes of mountains, valleys, farms and vineyards. Some other activities that are popular near Queenstown on South Island are boating, climbing and snowboarding.

Road Trips around New Zealand

No matter what special spot in the natural countryside that people explore, they are rewarded with so much to see and do. Taking along a camera to capture shots for keeping the trip alive in the memory is a good idea. The scenes can be used in many ways to continue the joy of first discovery. Campervan or motorhome hire New Zealand style is a worthwhile investment for adventures beyond compare. Road trips and camping in these convenient vehicles help people leave stress and regular routines behind for a true New Zealand in the wild experience.
