Wedding Destination - Aoraki Mt Cook In New Zealand

Discover what the land of the long white cloud, New Zealand has to offer as a wedding destination. Get in touch with nature and exchange your wedding vows on the top of Aoraki Mt Cook.

Ever had that feeling that you’re on top of the world? Wouldn’t you like to have that feeling on the most special day of your life? Are you a thrill seeking couple looking for an adventurous and exciting way to begin your new journey and life together? Then Aoraki Mt Cook will provide you with that unique point of difference amongst the highest glaciers and peaks of New Zealand. This is such a magnificent location for your wedding where you will capture breathtaking views of Mother Nature at its finest.

Because of its isolated and secluded location Aoraki Mt Cook is only suitable if you are planning a small intimate wedding. It is such a popular destination therefore you will find many wedding planning services that offer special package deals for this particular location. They will take care of all wedding requirements including organising the Marriage License, Marriage Certificate, Civil Marriage Celebrant, and witnesses if required. For a basic mountain top wedding package including helicopter fees you will pay around NZD$4325, or if you prefer an 8 seater ski-plane you will pay around $4350. There will be an additional charge of NZD$15 per person for guests joining you atop the mountain. There are also further wedding options available to you at additional charges such as photography packages, accommodation, picnic hampers, and much more.

Organising a wedding in New Zealand is rather straight forward, if living in New Zealand you must submit your Notice of Intended Marriage application at least 3 days prior to the wedding date, if you live outside of New Zealand and will be arriving within 3 days of the wedding date then you are able to complete majority of the formalities before you arrive. In order for the wedding to be legal you must be married by an appointed marriage celebrant or minister of a church. You must state when and where you will be getting married on the application therefore it is advisable you seek an alternative location should the weather prevent proceedings.

Mount Cook’s alpine village is situated right in the heart of Aoraki Mount Cook National Park. Should your guests be staying over and helping you celebrate this little ski town has many accommodation options to offer. International and luxury style hotels and motels for those discerning travellers looking to spoil themselves, secluded self catering cottages for added privacy, or backpacking facilities and camping grounds for guests on a budget. However should you wish to experience New Zealand rural life then perhaps a traditional farm stay will add that special touch. Whatever you prefer this region definitely has it all.
